Random : My parents brought back a horsey like this one from their cruise in Europe! It’s a national symbol in Sweden, right?

Yeah! Not sure how it became a national symbol, though - since it’s a local thing from the beginning!
It originates from Dalecarlia (Dalarna in Swedish) - one of the 25 provinces in Sweden (where I am from!). Every county in this province has their own pattern on their Dalecarlia Horse. The original one is the red one with gourd pattern! This pattern was very common to be painted inside houses and on sewn on textile. Also seen on the national dresses of Dalcerlia (and also in other provinces here).
My hometown Ludvika’s Dalecarlia Horse is blue or white and painted with blue or white flowers (I don’t know what that flower is called in english xD)!
I think the original horse might be red with white gourd since there are so many red painted houses with white corners in Dalecarlia - and the green probably comes from the woods. Not sure though!
The reason why there is a Dalecarlian horse with short legs in this logo is a bit of a pun actually. Their team is called Kamratföreningen Kortedalarna. Kortedalarna kind of means Short Dalecarlia. Their team is located in an other city in Sweden (Gothenburg) but there is this area called Kortedala in this city, and they added “rna” in the word since most of the players in their team is from Dalecarlia (Dalarna).

Yeah, you are right! I think every story teller is facing this dilemma once in a while with the same conclusion: it’s impossible to be 100% unique. As long as we tell a good story with your own touch to it, you have achieved something!

Thanks! I think I will! Glad to hear this from you since I love your characters to bits; because even though I don’t know them 100%, I feel like I can relate to them somehow. I think that’s one important thing in character design - to find things (even if they are tiny!) people can relate to!

The Korra series have some really thoroughly designed characters - both visually and story wise. I think if some of those bits and pieces are similar to other creations its just because artists and writers are repeatedly using something that already is proven to work in a story. I try to think of it that way! XD

The more I watch the Legend of Korra, the more I realize that one of the main characters has some attributes and a past that are a bit like one of my main characters in my comic The Din. What is the best thing to do?

I have old artwork an thumbnails with this character in scenes of his past / attributes in case I would be called a shameless thief. But in my opinion it doesn’t really matter since it’s really impossible to be 100% unique when telling a story. There are tons of characters like this already. I am just generally cautious of dramas around fandoms, if you know what I mean? xD
I don’t have a lot of readers yet, so it’s not really a problem now. Just wanted to get my thoughts out there in this matter. I want to tell a good story and I don’t want people to be bothered by something in the middle of the experience and stop reading.
